Ameritocracy ups its awesomeness for YOU!!!
Hey there, Ameritocracy Community! We’re excited to tell you about some new features available to you on Ameritocracy.com. First you will already have begun to see some cosmetic changes to the homepage. These include better access to our blog and more featured content, including a featured community member. We are implementing these changes with you in mind, to make navigating the site easier and more rewarding. But we know that, as users of our site, you are our site, and so here we present the new features available to you:
- Member Readers- Is there a member whose work you like or who consistently posts quotes you find relevant? Do you want to share your own work with other users? Now you’ll be able to! By selecting a member as one you read, you’ll get notifications when that member posts content to the site, and that user will also receive notification when you do. With this feature, not only will each visit to the site provide you with more of the information you want, but will help find even more users who add the sort of content you’re looking for!
- Questions - In addition to adding to statements, users can now post their own questions to Ameritocracy. Want to know what Barack Obama would do to middle-class tax rates? Wonder what Bill O’Reilly’s track record on false information is? Add that question to the site and you and your fellow users can attach quotes and their responses that provide answers and context.

Rate the Debates - Missed the debates? Using our new Questions feature, Ameritocracy fact-checked the presidential and vice-presidential debates live. That means that every question asked by the debate moderators and the claims made by the candidates in response have been added to the site. Just go to straight to the issues pages and decide for yourself: Were the candidates honest? And if not, what is the truth? Check out the pages for the first three debates:
- First Presidential Debate
- Vice Presidential Debate
- Second Presidential Debate
- Third Presidential Debate - Be sure to visit Ameritocracy.com at 9 PM on Wednesday, 10/15, as fifty volunteer Ameritocracy community members fact-check the candidates responses live! Follow along or fact-check for yourself as the debate happens
- Expanded Profiles - Want your fellow users to have a better idea of who you are, how you think, and where you’re coming from? So do we! Which is why we’ve added a way for you to do just that. Don’t worry. We haven’t destroyed your old profile and you don’t have to make changes, but we encourage you to do so!
Also, we want to invite all New York City residents out to Pacific Standard in Park Slope, Brooklyn to watch the debate with us tomorrow night. We’ve teamed up with Beermenus.com to offer you the chance to enter win a $50 bar tab! Just show up before the debate between 7 PM and 9 PM and pay us a visit to find out how you can win. We think you will all enjoy the new features on the site. Thanks for being a part of our growing community, and as always, for daring to “challenge the status quote.”
